TheyaVue Ingredients: 7 Checks on the Supplement Facts Label

Quick answer

TheyaVue lists fourteen vitamins and minerals with amounts, then a 240.5 mg blend of ten ingredients with no single amount. That includes lutein and zeaxanthin. The label counts one capsule as a serving and asks for two a day, so double every figure. Use these seven checks to read it.

What is in the TheyaVue ingredients list?

If you search for the TheyaVue ingredients, the ingredients list or the supplement facts, you want the label, line by line. This post walks the back panel in seven checks. It uses only what is printed on the bottle and what our files say about it.

Use the picture below as you read. It is the Supplement Facts panel image we hold for this product.

Key facts
  • Fourteen nutrients have their own printed amount. Ten more ingredients share one 240.5 mg blend.
  • Per day at two capsules, the blend is 481 mg.
  • Blend order on the label: lutein, bilberry extract, alpha lipoic acid, eyebright, zeaxanthin, quercetin, rutin, L-taurine, grape seed extract, lycopene.
  • Other ingredients: cellulose (vegetable capsule), rice flour, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide.
  • The panel names no maker, no distributor address and no country of manufacture.

Plain note

TheyaVue is a dietary supplement. It is not FDA approved, and no supplement is. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, and no supplement restores eyesight. Ask your doctor about any medical question. Sudden blurring, flashes, floaters, eye pain or vision loss need an eye doctor the same day.

Check 1

Check 1: What does serving size say?

TheyaVue Supplement Facts panel showing 60 servings per container and a 240.5 mg proprietary blend

The Supplement Facts panel image for TheyaVue.

The top line reads Serving Size: 1 Capsule and Servings Per Container: 60. That looks like a 60-day bottle. The directions say otherwise. The label asks for one capsule twice a day, 20-30 minutes before a meal, with an 8 oz glass of water. Two servings a day means a bottle lasts 30 days.

Every percent on the panel is for one capsule. So read the day total yourself by doubling. Our per capsule versus per day post goes deeper on this.

Check 2

Check 2: Which nutrients have a printed amount?

Fourteen do. The table shows each one per capsule and per day. The per-day column is simple arithmetic, two capsules a day.

Check 3

Check 3: What is hiding in the proprietary blend?

The last line is a proprietary blend of 240.5 mg per capsule, or 481 mg a day. Ten ingredients share it. The dagger beside it means no Daily Value has been set, so no percent can print.

The key point is what is not there. Lutein and zeaxanthin are named on the front of the bottle. On the back, neither gets its own number. You cannot tell if each one is a few milligrams or a trace.

Check 4

Check 4: Does the blend order tell you anything?

Labels list a blend from the heaviest part to the lightest. So lutein leads the list and lycopene closes it. That gives rank, not weight.

If you split 481 mg evenly across ten, each would be about 48 mg. Nobody outside the factory knows the true split. Treat that even split as a thought exercise only.

For scale, the pooled review on lutein and zeaxanthin found no significant change in macular pigment below 5 mg a day. A larger rise came at 20 mg a day or more. The label gives you no way to place this bottle on that scale.

Check 5

Check 5: Which mineral forms are used?

Forms matter because they change how much the body takes in. Zinc comes as zinc oxide, which NIH says is absorbed at about 50%, against roughly 61% for zinc citrate or gluconate. Magnesium comes as magnesium oxide, a form with low uptake. Copper comes as copper gluconate, and selenium as an amino acid chelate.

Neither oxide form is unsafe. They simply deliver less of the printed number than some pricier salts. Cost is the usual reason a maker picks them.

Check 6

Check 6: Which three numbers should you compare with a limit?

  • Niacin: 40 mg NE a day. The upper limit for supplemental niacin is 35 mg. The label does not say which niacin form it uses.
  • Zinc: 32 mg a day, under the 40 mg adult upper limit from all sources. It adds up fast if you take other supplements.
  • Biotin: 800 mcg a day. It can interfere with some lab tests, including troponin and thyroid tests, so tell the clinic that draws your blood.

For comparison, the AREDS2 trial used 500 mg vitamin C, 400 IU vitamin E, 80 mg zinc and 2 mg copper. This label has 200 mg, about 20 mg, 32 mg and 2 mg. Only copper matches. Read our AREDS check for what that means.

Check 7

Check 7: What are the other ingredients, and what is missing?

The panel ends with other ingredients: cellulose for the vegetable capsule, rice flour, magnesium stearate and silicon dioxide. Those are not active nutrients. They shape the capsule and keep the powder flowing.

Two gaps remain. The panel prints no allergen statement. And it names no manufacturer, distributor address or country. The gluten-free and dairy-free marks on the packaging name no certifier. If you have an allergy, call the order desk before you rely on a seal.

As for the word natural, it describes the ingredient style. It is not a measure of dose or proof of benefit. The label never promises either.

Frequently asked questions

How many ingredients does TheyaVue have?

Twenty-four active ingredients: fourteen vitamins and minerals with a printed amount, plus ten sharing one blend line. Four other ingredients make up the capsule and filler.

Why do lutein and zeaxanthin have no amount?

Labeling rules let a maker print one total for a blend instead of each amount. Both are advertised on the front and measured nowhere on the back.

What does the dagger symbol mean on the panel?

It points to a note that Daily Value is not established for the blend, so no percent can be printed.

Is TheyaVue a capsule, a drop or a gummy?

It is a vegetable capsule. Nothing in our files describes TheyaVue drops or gummies.

Does the label say who makes TheyaVue?

No. The panel shows no manufacturer name, distributor address or country of manufacture.

Does TheyaVue match the AREDS2 formula?

Only on copper at 2 mg. Vitamin C, vitamin E and zinc are lower, and lutein and zeaxanthin cannot be compared because no amount is published.

Editorial view

Our view

The panel is half open and half closed. Fourteen numbers are clear and checkable. Ten are hidden behind one total, and they include the ingredients on the front of the bottle.

If you care most about lutein and zeaxanthin, that gap is the key fact. Ask the order desk if the maker can share the amounts, and take the label to your doctor or pharmacist if you use medicine. Do not guess a dose the label does not give.
