How to Choose an Eye Health Supplement: 7 Checks Before You Compare
No honest page can name the best eye health supplement for you. Choose by seven checks instead: who it is for, the AREDS2 nutrients, printed amounts, public limits, the maker, cost per day and the refund. TheyaVue passes some checks and fails others, and we show which, using only the label and the checkout.

What is the best eye health supplement?
Search for the best vision supplement and you will meet lists: top rated eye health supplements, top 5 vision supplements, best eye vision supplements. Many of those lists are paid placements. A few are honest. None can see your eyes.
So we do not give you a ranking. We give you a method that works on any bottle, whether you find it online, by mail order or on a shelf at a big-box store. Seven checks, each with a yes or no you can write down.
To keep it concrete, we score one example along the way: TheyaVue. We do not name other brands, and we do not claim it beats them. We only show how the checks play out.
- The only large trial the category leans on is AREDS2, in people who already had intermediate or advanced macular degeneration.
- TheyaVue prints 14 amounts and leaves 10 blend ingredients without amounts, including lutein and zeaxanthin.
- Daily cost at the label dose: roughly $1.97 on one bottle, $1.63 on three and $1.30 on six.
- Refund: 60 days from purchase, claimed by phone, return shipping paid by the buyer.
- Not published: the maker, a lab report, and verified reviews.

If you want one real label to practise these checks on, the order page lists the TheyaVue kits, totals and refund terms.

This checklist is a way to read labels, not a recommendation to buy any product. Dietary supplements are not FDA approved, and none treats an eye disease. Talk to an eye doctor about which supplement, if any, suits your eyes, and see one the same day for any sudden change in sight.
Check 1: Who is the supplement written for?
Read the caution line before the front. TheyaVue's label says it is for healthy adults 18 years and over only, to talk to a doctor if you take medicine or have a medical condition, and not to take more than the label says.
That one sentence answers several searches at once. A vision supplement for adults: yes, 18 and up. A vision supplement for seniors: the label sets a floor at 18 and states no upper age, so older adults are not excluded, but they are more likely to take other medicine. Vision supplements for women: the sales page speaks to men and women alike. Vision supplements for kids or for dogs: no. The label is for adults only, and nothing in our sources covers pets.
A vision supplement for drivers is a marketing idea. The label makes no claim about driving or night driving. If you struggle at night, see an eye doctor.
Check 2: Which of the six AREDS2 nutrients does it carry?
Macular supplements and AREDS vision supplements are often sold with the trial's name nearby. The trial formula has six nutrients: vitamin C, vitamin E, lutein, zeaxanthin, zinc and copper. Look for each one on the panel and note the amount.
| Nutrient | AREDS2 a day | TheyaVue a day | Match? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vitamin C | 500 mg | 200 mg | Lower |
| Vitamin E | 400 IU | About 44 IU | Lower |
| Lutein | 10 mg | Not published | Cannot score |
| Zeaxanthin | 2 mg | Not published | Cannot score |
| Zinc | 80 mg or 25 mg | 32 mg | Between the two arms |
| Copper | 2 mg | 2 mg | Exact match |
A macular supplement with lutein can mean many things. Without amounts, you cannot tell whether the lutein line is a research dose or a nod to the idea.
Check 3: Does the label print every amount?
This is the most revealing check. A label that prints an amount for each ingredient can be compared with research. A label that hides amounts in a blend cannot.
TheyaVue has 24 named ingredients. It prints amounts for 14 vitamins and minerals. The other 10, which are lutein, bilberry extract, alpha lipoic acid, eyebright, zeaxanthin, quercetin, rutin, L-taurine, grape seed extract and lycopene, share one 240.5 mg line per capsule. Under US rules that is legal. It is also why you cannot check the front of the bottle.
When you read vision supplement ingredients on any label, ask one thing of each: is there a number next to it? If the answer is no for the headline ingredient, mark the check as failed.
Check 4: Do any amounts cross a public limit?
Printed amounts let you hold them against published limits. On this label, two lines need care. Niacin gives 40 mg NE a day against a 35 mg limit for supplemental niacin, with the form not stated. Zinc gives 32 mg a day against a 40 mg adult limit from all sources.
Biotin at 800 mcg a day has no upper limit, but it can skew some blood tests. These are not reasons to panic. They are reasons to read before buying and to talk to a clinician if you take other products.
A natural eye health supplement is not exempt from limits. Plant ingredients and vitamins both have them.
Check 5: Who makes it, and where is the proof?
Look for a manufacturer or distributor name, an address and a country of manufacture. Then look for a lab report with a named lab and measured amounts.
For TheyaVue, the panel we hold prints no maker, no distributor address and no country of manufacture. The lot and certificate codes that came with the pack are drafts, and no lab report goes with them. The packaging shows marks such as FDA Registered Facility, GMP Certified and Doctor Developed, none with a certificate number or a clinician's name.
Mark this check as failed for now, and ask the seller. The order desk is on +1 (315) 724-2018.
Check 6: What does it cost per day?
Divide the price by the days the bottle lasts. A bottle with 60 capsules taken twice a day lasts 30 days, not 60. This one step removes a lot of marketing noise.
| Kit | Total | Days | Per day |
|---|---|---|---|
| One bottle | $59, shipping extra | 30 | About $1.97 |
| 3 bottles | $147 | 90 | About $1.63 |
| 6 bottles | $234 | 180 | About $1.30 |
Use the same sum on every product you compare. A cheaper bottle with half the capsules is not cheaper.
Check 7: What happens if you want out?
Find the refund terms before you pay. For orders through the checkout linked from this site, you have 60 days from purchase. You claim by phone with your order ID, and you pay tracked return shipping to New York.
Where you buy matters. A big-box store, a marketplace or a mail-order seller each has its own policy. Online is not worse than a store, and a store is not better than online. What counts is a written, findable path out.
Shoppers type eye health supplements Costco, vision supplements Walmart and eye health supplement Amazon into search boxes, and also look for an eye health supplement shop or store nearby. We hold no information on whether TheyaVue is sold at any named retailer, so we make no claim about it. Our where-to-buy guide covers the checks for any seller.
How does TheyaVue score on the seven checks?
| Check | Result |
|---|---|
| 1. Who it is for | Clear: healthy adults 18 and over |
| 2. AREDS2 nutrients | Copper matches; C, E and zinc lower; lutein and zeaxanthin cannot be scored |
| 3. Every amount printed | No: 10 of 24 ingredients have no amount |
| 4. Public limits | Niacin above its limit; zinc close; biotin affects some tests |
| 5. Maker and proof | Not published |
| 6. Cost per day | About $1.30 to $1.97, before single-bottle shipping |
| 7. A way out | Clear: 60 days, phone claim, buyer pays return shipping |
That is two clear passes, three open gaps and two cautions. A reader who values printed amounts and a named maker will mark it down. A reader who values a clear price and a refund path will mark it up.
How should you read eye supplement reviews and Reddit threads?
With care. Vision supplement reviews and eye health supplement reviews are a mixed pile of real accounts, paid posts and copied text. Look for dates, order details, a stated downside and no claims of cured eye disease.
We publish no reviews for TheyaVue because the figures we were given were marked as layout copy. If you find one elsewhere, apply the same filter.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best eye health supplement?
No page can name one for you. Use the seven checks and ask an eye doctor which supplement, if any, suits your eyes.
Are there vision supplements for seniors or women?
TheyaVue's label is for healthy adults 18 and over and sets no upper age. The sales page speaks to men and women alike. Ask a doctor if you take medicine.
Do vision supplements work?
The strongest evidence is for the AREDS2 formula in people with intermediate or advanced macular degeneration. It slowed progression and did not sharpen vision.
What should I look for in vision supplement ingredients?
Look for a printed amount next to each ingredient, the six AREDS2 nutrients, and any amount near a public limit.
Is TheyaVue better than other products?
We do not name or rank other products. Run the seven checks on each bottle and compare the results side by side.
Are eye supplements safe for kids or dogs?
TheyaVue is for adults 18 and over only, and nothing in our sources covers pets. Ask a pediatrician or a vet before giving any supplement to a child or an animal.

Our view
A good supplement choice is dull on purpose. It names its maker, prints its amounts, shows a lab report and gives a clear way out. When a bottle does not offer those, the buyer fills the gaps with trust. Sometimes that works out, and sometimes it does not.
TheyaVue gives you a clear price and a clear refund path, and it asks you to trust the rest. We think that is a fair summary, and we would rather you buy knowing it than buy because of a ranking.
A commission follows orders placed through our links. If any check above turns you away, that is the system working.

If TheyaVue still looks worth a closer look after the seven checks, the order page shows the kits, totals and refund terms side by side.
